Atacama Dump

For the past forty years, Chile has specialized in the trade of second-hand clothing and is now overwhelmed with used textiles. Due to the exponential quantity of clothing produced worldwide, illegal dumps are forming in the middle of the Atacama Desert, near the town of Alto Hospicio. This open-air landfill pollutes the air, soil, and groundwater.

Faced with this difficult problem, residents are organizing to reduce this ecological disaster. What if the entire global textile production chain needs to be redefined ?
