Summary

In the city of Latina, Italy, a small “utopia” built under Mussolini’s regime, the end of fascism leaves a difficult void to fill. Despite being located just a few kilometers from the sea, no tourists venture there during the summer, and despite its 127,000 inhabitants, Latina seems unusually empty, as if time had stood still. Today, nearly 80 years after Benito Mussolini’s fall, what remains of this urban attempt and how does architecture still impact the lives of its inhabitants?
